NEW ATHENS HIGH SCHOOL: 190.00
The Greyhound golfers prevailed in the season opener for New Athens. It wasn't pretty but they got it done by a score of 182 - 190 on the Yellow Jackets new home course in Marissa. The Greyhounds were led by senior, Paul Pilackas' 43 and once again the depth of the squad carried the day. While everyone felt the effects of playing in the heat, Paul managed to bounce back after a bad break which resulted in a ball bounding out of bounds.
The Greyhounds will be back in action after the Labor Day Holiday, facing the same opponent once again at Marissa's White Oak Golf Course.
Notes: Freshman, Ben Shaw saw his first action for the Lebanon team, playing in the sixth spot. This is the first of four matches against the Yellow Jackets. The medalist of the day was New Athen's Ryan Reuss, who shot a steady 3 - over par 39.
