The Greyhound Golfers played consistent team golf in the heat at The Acorns Golf Links against Valmeyer this afternoon.  The depth of this years team shone through as Conner Schmidt and Paul Pilackas led the way with 42's over nine holes.  Taylor Schmitt bounced back (after an uncharacteristic performance at his favorite course, Tamarack GC) with a 43 and Zach Grob finished off the scoring with a 45; adding up for a team total 172.  Valmeyer's number 1 and 2 players got them off to a fast start (shooting 40 & 41) but the Pirates could not keep pace as they faded to a team total 185.

While the first win in head to head play is always a nice way to start, the Senior heavy team has set lofty team goals this year.  As the season warms up, and the cool fall weather moves in...hopefully sometime soon, the Greyhounds SHOULD keep improving.  

The Greyhounds go on the road again for the third consecutive day to take on New Athens tomorrow.
